Greetings all:
I have a site currently running an AREV 3.1 application
on a Novell 4.11 network with the NLM, bumped to 4 users,
using W95 workstations.
They now wish to switch to an NT server – can anyone
give me a run-down on what they need to do and what
they need to purchase? I know they need the NT service,
but am confused re; the Network Performance Pack, since
they are already bumped. Any advice would be greatly
appreciated.
TIA,
Mike O'Neal

Mike,
The NPP is the network driver that the NT service uses. It is also called the All Networks Driver. It comes with the NT service or can be purchased seperately.

Hi John -
Thanks for the quick reply. Just to clarify, they need the NPP even though they have been bumped with a LAN Pack? There is no relation between the two? And… they cannot use the network driver that they received when they originally installed the NLM?
Thanks again,
Mike

No the NPP is a network driver. A bump disk increases the user liscense. And you can't use the one that came with the NLM because it is optimized for Novell, and does nto support Named Pipes which the NT service uses.
