Some time ago there was a great deal of discussion on the topic. Has the situation changed?

The ability to Copy a Table using the OI Runtime is a critical component of our Survey It! system. Survey IT! is designed to enable a user to define their own survey questions. The user indicates the name of a new survey and the "sample" definition is copied to create the new survey definition using the COPY File option available in the AREV runtime.

If the Copy Table feature is not available in the OI Runtime I would be interested from hearing from any one who can suggest how to resolve the issue. One suggestion is to define 10 or more surveys (Sample1 - 10) and then equate the clients survey name (Employee) to one of the sample surveys.

Any other suggestions to resolve our problem will be very appreciated as we would like to convert our application to OI.

The problem remains and will likely stay that way. Of course, you can deploy a single-user SDK (developer capabilities) to do the COPYTABLE for you and then all RDK workstations can attach it. In one of my accounting applications, I have 5 different subdirectories which contain historical information and attach whichever one is necessary for work. I have also done the multi-numerical files trick and then do a series of SETALIAS's based on the selection from a popup.

Don,

Thanks for your help. The SETALIS option is a good idea. This may help in configuring the system for sale. For a 5 Survey configured the system cost would be $xx and for a 10 Survey configured system the cost would be $xx + etc.

That is one hurdle down. Now I will attack the Report/Charting side of the system. I understand the way to go is to use the Print Utility developed by Slaver (I think that is the correct name).

Thanks again for your help.
