Ok, I've now just been burned for another couple hours because of bogus record counts in a file. Had an address list that I matched against another list which caused multiple deletes from both files (and adds to other files.) This happens all too often.

The point is that the record counters for the files in question were not updated. Logging off and logging back on did not help. The only thing that did help was to LIST the file.

Any clues as to what is failing? Cue Andrew; Cue Aaron ….. ?

TIA, Curt

I know what's happening, but I don't think it's the answer you want to hear. RTI never claimed that the record count in the header was accurate. Why it's not, I can speculate on, but I don't know the absolute reason. Doing a full select/pass through on the file will update the count to the accurate number.
