I've got a client (running an application in AREV 2.03) who is getting a strange error.

They're running the application on a Novell 3.12 network, with most PC's running DOS/Win3.1 or just DOS.

What happens is that after 30-45 minutes of running the application without any problem, they start getting this error:

WINDOW Line 1, non-numeric data when numeric required.

This error occurs whenever they go into any window and try to enter data.

I can fix the problem by re-installing the AREV runtime and our application, but this lasts only 30-60 minutes before the error occurs.

I think it's caused by file corruption in the AREV runtime files on the server, but so far analysis of the network has not revealed any problems which would indicate this.

Any suggestions?

Try painting the window and setting the recalculation options to none,save,exit then repaint to be 'as used'.

This frequently fixes this problem.
