Hi everyone
From my experiments, I assume that WINMSG events can't be promoted. Can anyone confirm this for me please?
For what it is worth, WINMSG is missing from PS_EQUATES as well.

We are not aware of any such restriction - albeit edit tables react differently as documented elsewhere. You have used EVENTDESIGNER to ensure enforcement of promotion?

Hi All
What is event designer and how do you use it to force promotion?

When you compile a Window it does not look for ALL possible promoted events for inclusion in a Window as this would delay compilation, it just looks for certain ones. Using EventDesigner you can specify that specific events MUST be looked for at compilation time.

Hi Scott
You ask big questions! If you do a search on this website, you will find lots of info on promoting events. Also Sprezz have an excellent article in one of their S/ENLs. Not a lot of point in trying to rehash what is already here.
Glad you enjoyed the roadshow in Auz. There always seems to be more to learn with OI. It is a big product and now it is open which makes it even bigger.
All the best
