In our app we provide a front end for our customers to create custom reports. They can create the report name, sort, and the select with our front end. Then we want to programatically call reporter and use the quickreport wizard. This forces the customer to put GETLIST REPORTNAME@STATION in the query selection in order to use the records selected on our front end. And this forces the customer to name the report according to the name they created on our front end, in order to link the report with our front end. We are looking for tighter integration. This is too cumbersome. If we create the report for them on the fly or copy another report then we can name the report but the customer still has to fill in the GETLIST part on the query and then the customer cannot use the quickreport wizard. Reports in the repository do not have source that would let us make this tighter.

How can we accomplish this?

I seriously doubt we'll be given enough material on the Reporter in order to accomplish what you want. We would need to get the equivalent of Sprezzatura's OI Window documentation I'd imagine.

Are these reports meant strictly to be R/List types? If so then I'd just use S/List or the OIPI to get this done.

We are using OIPI for most of our reports, however, these reports can be any kind of report. (Forms or Rlist type reports)

Sprezzatura has documented the layout of OpenInsight window records so it is fairly easy to modify/create them on the fly. If you had the same information regarding Reporter records then this might give you what you needed. I suspect, however, that the layout is not quite so straightforward as the OI window, but who knows?
