I have a customer running a single netware 4.2 server. They are using AREV 3.2 and getting file corruption errors (indexes, LISTS, etc.). I have several clients running on netware 4.1x without any problems. None of my clients use the AREV NLM. I noticed that TTS is set to ON. Will the caching used for TTS cause file corruption? Should I turn TTS 'Auto TTS Backup Flag' to off?

Thanks for your help.

Jim,

Refer to this link to see how you should handle TTS with the Revelation NLMs. Without them, I'd recommend having TTS on (the default setting).

This particular site may have a GFE, irrespective of NetWare version, which is causing other GFEs. Your best bet would be to fix the GFE and then install the Revelation NLMs to prevent further corruption, although I don't know of any problems specific to 4.2 over 4.11.

You may also want to install the TURBODIS.NLM available from Novell if BTRIEVE processes are causing the GFEs. Search for TURBOD.EXE on www.support.novell.com for the download.
