I have a number of clients who want to run one of my applications

written on v1.16 (don't laugh) on Win95 Networking with two users

one being the server.

I tried the NPP (All networks drivers) but this does not allow the

"server" to be a workstation - (as stated in the Bump Documentation).

If I use it as a workstation, the system corrupted - big time, mostly with indexes and record locking.

I then tried the PC-MOS Multiuser driver - and it appears to allow the server to be a workstation - without the corruptions.

What are the dangers (proven and expected) of following this train of thought, bearing in mind the AREV version I am running ?? Upgrading the version is not a favoured alternative.

Any comments would be appreciated ASAP

Tony,

We only support AREV on Win'95 when using one of our network drivers such as the NPP. Which means you would have to upgrade your AREV system. The PC-MOS you are using is not a supported environment either so you may get some unexpected results which may or may not be good. This is not to say these are your only options, but your best one would be to upgrade AREV and get the NPP.

Good luck…

PC-mOS by itself is simply the byte-range driver. However, it makes some changes to input.char that could cause some issues.
