On one particular Win95 computer the system editor has the following strange behavior:

When I do a search (Shift-F3), for any found words that are not visible, the screen does not scroll to display those finds. The words are found, but I have to manually scroll down through the code to see where the found word is.

I have tried everything I can think of:

- copied OI from a computer that does not have this behavior

- replaced my video adapter driver with the most current one

- deleted the OI directory, installed a fresh full copy (OI 3.4)

- upgraded the new 3.4 to 3.5

After each of the previous steps, I tried the system editor with the same (aggravating by now) result.

Does anyone out there have any clue as to what might be causing this?

I have this same behavior on my machine here and I do not see it on my second machine. It seems that it could possibly be something to do with OI and the type of machine you are using, not sure at this point.

What it comes down to is, we know what the issue is and we are working on resolving it. At this stage we are looking to pin point what the cause is so we can work on a solution.

I've never seen that one, but I've seen all sorts of funcky stuff with S3 drivers and just about everything.

Gateway 2000, P5-166 with MGA Matrox Mystique Video Card, 32 Mb Ram

Several machines here exhibit that particular behavior (mine included). The common ground seems to be win95 OSR2 and tray applications. Blaise and I have the same pc's here and the same hardware. You might have noticed that sometimes in OSR2 scroll bars will flicker if you click and hold in the bar, I suspect that this is related.

What, if any, tray apps are you running? What is the OS version?

I'm not sure what you mean by tray applications.

I had to re-install Win95 on my laptop. I installed OSR2 (same version as on my PC with a problem). The laptop however scrolls fine!

My PC is a Gateway 2000, the Laptop is a Gateway too (Solo 2100).
