I was applying an upgrade to our test runtime system the other day which included the addition of 144 new tables, and about 5 seconds into the upgrade the system broke to the debugger with

RDKUPDATEDBT line 191, variable exceeds maximum length

At first I thought that the .DBT file had exceeded 64k during the upgrade process, but a quick check showed that the .DBT was 94k before the upgrade.

I got round the problem temporarily by copying the .DBT from our development version into the runtime, then running the upgrade. Our development .DBT in 151k. However, this is not an ideal solution.

Does anyone have any ideas what went wrong and what I can do about it?

Thanks.

Henry.
