This isn't directly OpenInsight related but since our company uses IIS primarily with OECGI2 and OESocketServer I thought I'd run this by the community.

Frequently after windows updates are installed on our IIS servers (Windows 2000 and XP Development workstations) the IIS service will fail to load. The symptoms appear when trying to open the IIS management console. A login prompt requesting credentials for the service may display or an error message "an attempt was made to reference a token that does not exist" could appear.

So far the solution to fix the error has been to remove and reinstall IIS. As our sites get more and more complicated this becomes very difficult. Does anyone have any ideas how to resolve this issue?

If you follow Microsoft Support KB884872 you should be able to resolve the problem without having to remove,install, and reconfigure IIS server.

We ran into the same problems. The KB procedure resolved the issue each time.
