Revelation Software has updated the OpenInsight Issue Tracker.

Previously the Issue Tracker was created using INET_ routines. It has been updated to use O4W, the latest, and finest, web offering from Revelation. The look of the Issue Tracker has changed, as well as, the navigation steps within the Issue Tracker.

The URL to access the OpenInsight Issue Tracking and Resolution System is:

http://www.revsecure.com/o4wtrs/oecgi3.exe/O4W_DOMINO_HANDOFF?DESTN=O4W_TRS_DISPATCH

and it is accessible via the WORKS Subscribers page of the Revelation.com website.

The starting page of the Issue Tracker is the same as the previous version. When a new Issue is created, a link is clicked or search criteria is entered, the item clicked will open in a new tab within your browser. Once a tab is opened the tab will be reused when the same type of link/criteria is queried. For example, the main URL will display the Issue Tracker Search page. When you click on "All Open Issues", a new tab will open listing all open issues. If you then click the main tab and select "All Closed Issues", the tab that contained "All Open Issues" will be used to display the closed issues. The same behavior is true, if you drill down to display an Issue, it will always display within the same tab. The tab will only be navigated to when the tab is created - subsequent updating of the tab data requires that you click the tab yourself.

The look of the Issue details has changed. The page now contains the issues details as entered in the "Open New Issue" page, as well as three (3) O4W tabs within the page, containing Basic Information, Response Information and a New Response tab. To respond to an Issue, click the New Response tab and enter the data, then click the Save button at the bottom of the page.

While we are aware that there will be a learning curve, we are confident that the Issue Tracker has been improved, as well as, provides an opportunity for the community to see an O4W application in production.

Thank you,

Revelation Software

G'day - all very nice, but I can't login using my Works credentials.

Martin,

Have you logged into the Works section and then attempted the link? The Issue Tracker requires that you log into the WORKS section.

Hi Sean,

I can't login either. I logged into the Works section first. Does the O4W login UserName have to be uppercase? If so, maybe that's the problem. My works Username is NOT all caps.

I had no problem being logged into the new Issue Tracker this morning, after I had logged into the Works.

It wasn't case sensitive.

However, when the Issue Tracker left sidebar didn't have the Works Subscribers section and I had to log in again to gain access to Works.

OK, I was able to click on the "OpenInsight Bug Tracker" under the Works Subscriber section (menu on left) and then click on the "OpenInsight Issue Tracker" link. The O4W login didn't appear. Earlier I had tried accessing it via the link in the original post. That's where the O4W login appeared (and wouldn't accept my Works login).

I bet the reason Dave had to login again was because the O4W process uses the Revelation template without the "Works Subscriber" menu on.

Harold,

If you clikc the OpenInsight Bug Tracker link on the left under Work Subscribers and then click the "OpenInsight Issue Tracking & Resolution System and the OpenInsight Suggestion Box" link on that page you should be able to access the Issue Tracker. The link under the Works Gateway page is broken. I will fix as soon as possible.

Thank you,

Sean

The link referenced in the original post was incorrect because it bypassed the login process. The correct link is:

http://www.revsecure.com/o4wtrs/oecgi3.exe/O4W_DOMINO_HANDOFF?DESTN=O4W_TRS_DISPATCH

To incorporate seamless login between the existing website and the new O4W site we implemented a new single sign on module that will automatically sign into O4W if you've first signed into the Works board.

Harold is correct; the "template" that the new issue tracker is using doesn't include the Works menu item. We'll fix that soon.

Thanks!

I'm getting an error when trying to access the enw Issue Tracker:

CGI ERROR

The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers.

The first time I clicked on the link (using Google Chrome) the application appeared. I clicked on "All Open Issues". A repport appeared. I clicked on one of the records and a message appeared saying something about problems with CGI. When I exited another message appeared (can't remember what it said). After that I started getting the above message always. I tried logging in again, no luck. I tried accessing the process using IE8, same errors.

Hi Sean,

It works now. Here's a couple other things I just found:

I did a couple of searches. If I don't back all the way out before doing a different type of search the same results from the 1st search appear. I tried going it using Google Chrome thinking it was because the way I have tabbing setup. I logged into the site on Chrome and now when I try to access the link I get: Authorization Error "Sorry, please be sure to login at the main Revelation web site before proceeding". I can't find anywhere on your site to "Log Out". Maybe I need to log out and then back in.

I just logged in using IE8, clicked on the issue tracker section and it works. I still get error message when trying to connect via Google Chrome. When I hit OK it kicks me back to the revelation site.
