Dear Mr. President:

Considering the bad-old jRev days, reading your letter was like taking a breath of fresh air.

A few points that caught my attention:

"Ahead of the curve"

For years we have had to contend with those relational purists who say that all data should be viewed as normalized flat files. They would claim that hierarchial structured mv databases are a thing of a different generation. Well now the world is jumping on the XML bandwagon. Guess what? XML is hierarchial.

"PDA's and WAP cell phones"

In response to our clients' requirements for cell phone access to their OI database, we are embarking on a WAP phone project. Also we have been requested to develop access to OI databases from Java enabled PDA's. Maybe this is where JOI comes into play. There are those who claim there is a huge wireless market emerging. I hope more Rev developers get involved and some discussion appears on the Works form. It seems that RevTech has given us the right tools. There's some good info at http://developer.openwave.com/

"Las Vegas Conference Aug 2001"

We'll be there. Please let us know when dates are set.

Keep up the great work Mike, Bob and the team.

Regards,

Jim

Jim-

Thanks!

I feel that these are exciting time for us and the community, and I think it shows in what we do.

We're working on great stuff like third party controls, Unicode, just to name two things that will likely appear in future releases.

We're having fun!

Mike
