Hi, Dave. Does it help if say _I_ did it? You will also notice in the upcoming 10.0.8 release, that we include the option to use an alternate Java for the engine server (and even include it, and install it, if you choose that option). As far as I have been able to tell, selecting an open-source Java does not impact the performance or functionality in any way.
If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask them, and I can try to answer them based on the experiences we had - but really, it was just as simple as choosing one of the open source providers, downloading the Java, and putting it on the PC.
Hope that helps,

Thanks Bryan.
When something new is interesting, I'm usually right on it. But since this replacement is rare, I thought I'd ask before investing my time into a hopefully "once per lifetime" change.
So, I will wait for OI 10.0.0.8 and have it install it for me!
