I am having a problem with the Form Designer hanging while saving. Is seems to occur only/mainly when the form is bound to data (LH file). It occurs on forms that are bound to different LH files. A form will often save a number of times (say 4 -] 8) in a row without problem then will fail. Even when only moving one or two controls a pixel or two between saves the freezing still occure. I note that when it has hung the CPU usage goes to 100%. Any attempt to exit and I get the "This program is not responding . . " message. Other aspects of the OI environment seem to be stable. Any ideas ???

OI V7.21 On WinXP workstation

Is there some other OI process running that is modal? Opening a record in the editor, test running a popup, etc?

Is Background indexing running?

Using the Database Manager, set the default background indexing time to a longer value, for example 60 seconds, see if that helps.

No Model windows open and with indexing set to 60 the hanging still continues. I ??think?? that it only (or mainly) occurs on windows that have data bound controls AND are multi page (ie using tabs). Could these be different to other windows??. Mike - is there any way I can tell where it is crashing (memory dump OR oengine log or something like this ) that would mean something to me?? or you??

I've had problems with form designer hanging when I have multiple tables attached to one form. Most times when I remove reference to secondary tables. The only thing that's worked for me is to save as another form name and re-compile the new form.
