Preparing for OI10.1 (OpenInsight 64-bit)

Preparing for the deployment of OI10.1 is being a huge task. Recently I have engaged the services of Barry Stevens to help convert and test the PBC application in OI10.1. Not only have I been part of the OI10 beta testing program but since the release on 23 Dec 21 have spent all of the Xmas break testing OI10.1. I have aslo installed an OI10.1 test vesion at one of my clients and finding more bugs needing fixes. I seem to feel that not many other developers are testing OI10.1, or have any clients that have been converted from OI9xxx to OI10.1 including WinWin Solutions because if they had then the bugs I am finding should have fixed.
I appreciate the help from Bryan, Bob, Carl, Don etc but all this effort has been time consuming without any rewards.
My main concern is when I move my clients from OI9.4.6 to OI10.1, then find some more bugs and having to move them back to OI9.4.6 I am going to have more problems. I am NOT prepared to purchase a copy of UD5.2 for OI9.4.6 to make OI9.4.6 compatible with OI10.1. I would have thought that those developers who have put all this effort in OI10.1 would be rewarded with a complimentary copy of UD5.2 so the client can confidently move to OI10.1 and have the assurance that the old 9.4.6 version is still functional. Moving clients to OI10.1 is a hard sell as it is as the client does not see many benefits.
Appologies for expressing my frustrations and continue testing in preparing for OI10.1
Chris

Chris, and Barry,
We can appreciate your feelings regarding converting a 9 application to a 10 application. In case you're doubting us, we did in fact spend quite a lot of time and money writing OI 10, making it backward compatible to OI 9/8/7/etc so that developers who had not been upgrading would not face as daunting a task when moving to 10. We tested in house, on our own development projects, on new projects, and had beta testers testing as well.
Not every bug was found. Not every bug ever will. I know of bugs in Arev 3.12 still not fixed. Developers have learned to work around them.
As bugs are found we fix them, and put them into the next release. All software works like this, whether it's in a product or custom consulting.
I'm sorry that it's not happening quickly enough for you, or that you've found things now that no one else has found yet. We will continue to do our level best and get the fixes and enhancements out to the developer community.
Mike

(for DATA share reasons.)
@Mike is there any room for movement here
