Hi all,

I have found in the OI 7 documentation an example of how to create a chart in an OI window using the Microsoft Chart control. I have tried to make this example work, but I have the problem that the MSChart20.ocx file was not installed on my computer (XP SP2 w/ Office 2003).

I have downloaded a copy of the file and registered it on my computer, but I still cannot get the example to work. I have read a few postings regarding this problem, but no-one has supplied an answer.

Does anyone know how to make the chart example work? This would prove to be an invaluable feature of our system, but it just won't work.

I read some previous postings regarding this, and found that if you have XP SP2 installed, you have basically ruined your chances of running MSChart20Lib.MSChart as a graphing ocx.

I think it would be nice to find a replacement since it would be a valuable tool to have. I have used the vsprint.ocx to physically draw bars and lines, but it does take a lot of coding to control. I'm also going to experiment with OWC11.ChartSpace (an Office XP Web Component) and some other third-party controls.

Let me know if you need anything else on this since I'd like to get this resolved myself.

I used a product called Teechart on a project several years ago, was very impressed.
