Client datafiles are always stored in separate subdirectories underneath DATA directory on the server machine, which is fine for using tape backup etc and specifying this location.

The only other file which some clients may customise is the SYSREPOSREPORTS file, depending on whether they purchased reporter or not.

Do most people use APBACKUP?, which seems quite good - then backup those files, or perhaps someone has some other ideas.

It might be best just to back up all the files. Full backups weekly, incrementals daily.

APPBACKUP is good for backing up the application to move it somewhere, or archive it, but I wouldn't use it for a full system backup. I'd just put the files to tape.

Personal opinion though.
