RTI ..
This link is to a thread from the reg board. There seems to be a problem in the data warehouse and I was wondering if the message has been read .. if it is being looked into .. if anyone was alive there

dsig,
As soon as I put a decimal into the warehousing routine no data was saved. Take it back out and pow .. data.
Does it change behavior if you use the "Do not clear tables" option vs. one of the "clear tables by …" options?
The reason that I ask is that the "Do not clear tables" option brings data back from the database first, so the problem could be in the processing of a SELECT statement and populating of the DataSet.
Otherwise, the problem could be with the insert script.
It is also possible that the SQL Server XO is missing some information about handing decimals, since the decimal type is a fairly new addition in the SQL Server XO.
would it be possible to expand the log file to a) show the actual message this should always be returning from the server .. b) expand the log file to show all errors. I realize that a real process would not have many errors .. but the log file truncated and so I don't know if there would be as many errors as records I tried to post.
Do you mean the error log displayed in the edit table in the warehouse manager?
would it be possible to let csspy see what was going on.
That is not too easy … you'd have to get the warehousing to stop and wait while you checked the data in CS Spy. Try calling a Msg from within your warehouse procedure at points that you want to check CS Spy.

The problem has shown itself on the first time run. I create the procedure then execute it. I will try it with clearing table and see what it does.

Yes. I don't have the error handy right now but it is a generic message.

You wouldn't want me to ask for easy things would you? ..
Also .. could you see that this info gets over to Simon Boyer (link yours and this reply so that the other forum can read) who originally round the problem.
Thanks .. will let you know what happens with the test
