I created a copy routine to copy multiple items at one time from table to table. I wanted to view errors and results in the system editor's "results viewer". I used the send_dyn subroutine and it worked quite well.

So… is there any reason I should not use this routine to produce the results I want?

There is a brief mention of this send_dyn subroutine in the receiver property help.

Just that the messages thus sent can currently only be used in the system's RECEIVER control.

There's SEND_DYN and there's also SEND_INFO, which do similar items, though they work in slightly different ways. It depends on the method you wish to return the data on which one you should choose.

Send_Info will return back to the control set as the STATUSLINE control, and it will replace the text of the object.

Send_Dyn will return back to the control set as the SYSTEM RECEIVER, but will append to the existing text of the object.
