Just a few points about the new report builder:
1. TOTAL and AVERAGE don't seem to be working.
2. When a column is set to BREAK-ON, its column header text is automatically CAPITALIZED. I don't think that should happen.
3. The generation of BASIC+ script does not produce the script for the loaded report, but for LIST SYSREPOS JUSTLEN 50 WITH ALL "C:" BY @ID. By the way, the generated script is more reminicent of AREV RLIST generated code, than of AREV BRW code.
4. What is the future direction of this thing? Specifically, an OI version of the Arev BRW would be great. These features of the Arev BRW I consider really good, and would love to see in th OI product:
a) Fully cusomisable BREAK HEADER and BREAK FOOTER bands
b) Report TITLE band
c) Report SUMMARY band
d) Adding calculated fields anywhere
Maybe this sounds just like the doomed "reporter" but that's my two cents worth….

Thanks for the input. We will make note of your suggestions. 7.0 for the Report Builder+ is just a starting point for future versions. Indeed, the code generation feature is a carryover from the previous version which was a carryover, etc. hence, the Arev-like result. We have discussed making the generated code a little more robust in future versions.
I'll look at the other issues and get back to you.

Re: Break-on column headers, we'll try to change it so that it uses the formatting specified in the Column Detail for that column(case, font, etc)

I tested Total and Average and they are working for me. Perhaps the amounts are being truncated on your report. The column's default width is used for the total and average columns. Try expanding the width in the dictionary to see if that gives you more meaningful numbers. The BREAK-ON mod mentioned earlier might be applied to TOTAL and AVERAGE columns so that column's attributes, including width, are applied to the columns being displayed when totaling and averaging.

Bill,
What would be nicer, is to free the TOTAL field from the column altogether. As per how it could be done in the Arev banded report writer. It was possible there to have a column of two digit numbers only two char wide, and the total the column, and define the total field as wide as you like, justified right under the two char wide column…
FWIW,

If this is the report tool of the future you might want, as Jonathan pointed out, review the ARev BRW. Though not perfect Scott put a lot of work into and it did some very nice stuff.
So before you get too far along look at using the basic reporting functionaly of Arev.
