If you have OI on a 'Server' PC and that PC was running Windows 32 bit and your client PC was running Win64bit with a shortcut to OI on the 'Server' 32 bit PC, should that work straight away or do you need to modify the shortcut or 'it just wont work'

Thanks

A bit more info:

The version of OI is Version 7

I just did a quick test of 64 bit client pc to a 64 pc that has a copy of this OI7 system. (To test if works on a 64bit P2P server)

I opened the folder and ran OInsight.exe and got error:

FS1020: Unable to open REVLOCKS file at workstation.

I then tried the same with another system that is OI9 and got no error.

So, what is the error msg saying and what is the cause.

Should running the OI 7 system the way I did work or is OI7 not compatible in that environment

It will run standalone on the PC (64bit) where it is located.

Hope the above waffle-on is understandable.

I found another old OI7 system and tried that and it ran OK.

So I probably need to now know:

1) what does this error imply:

FS1020: Unable to open REVLOCKS file at workstation.

2) and again the original question:

OI7 on a 'Server' PC and that PC was running Windows 32 bit and your client PC was running Win64bit with a shortcut to OI on the 'Server' 32 bit PC, should that work straight away or do you need to modify the shortcut or 'it just wont work'

Copied from under a main folder to separate on the Drive on the 'server' PC and it ran OK.
