Advanced Revelation has been validated by Revelation Technologies to be compatible with the following networks and multiuser systems:

DOS 3.1 MS-NET compatible networks:

  • IBM PC LAN 1.2
  • 3COM 3 1.2
  • ATT STARLAN 2.0
  • Banyan VINES 2.1
  • Novell NetWare 4.6
  • Novell Advanced NetWare 1.0, 2.0, 2.1
  • PC-MOS/386 3.0 (multiuser system without NetWare Interface)
  • Novell ELS Level I and II (dedicated server only)

Users can choose either the Novell NetWare 1.0 or the Advanced NetWare 2.1 network driver for use with ELS I and II. The Novell NetWare driver provides somewhat better performance than the Advanced NetWare driver.

Revelation Technologies has been informed that Advanced Revelation is being used by some users or has been tested by the network vendor on the following networks and multiuser sytems. Because these are field reports, not all information is available about the configuration and version numbers of the networks tested.

Revelation Technologies does not officially support the networks listed here, but has reasonable confidence in the compatibility of Advanced Revelation and these systems. However, the phrase not officially supported in this context indicates the following:

  • Revelation Technologies does not necessarily intend to make systems on this list officially supported (available on the bump disk) at a later date.
  • Information available at a later date may require Revelation Technologies to declare a particular system incompatible with Advanced Revelation.
  • No technical support can be provided for installation, configuration, or problem resolution pertaining to these networks and multiuser systems.
  • Use systems on this list at your own discretion and risk.
  • Banyan VINES 3.0
  • LANtastic 2.33 (nd) from Artisoft
  • Inc.Grapevine (version ?) from Computer Pathways
  • DNA Networks (version ?) from DNA Networks, Inc.
  • POWERlan (version ?) from Performance Technology
  • Network-OS (version ?) from CBIS Inc.
  • 10NET (version ?) from DCANTNX from Alloy Computer Products
  • 386/MultiWare (version 3.0) from Alloy Computer Products

Note: (nd) following the network name indicates that the network server is non-dedicated, which means that Advanced Revelation can be run on the server machine. Otherwise, the networks require a dedicated server.

Advanced Revelation is currently being tested or will soon be tested by Revelation Technologies on the following networks and multiuser systems:

3COM 3Open:

  • DOS Advanced Revelation on DOS machines
  • DOS Advanced Revelation in OS/2 DOS compatibility box
  • OS/2 Advanced Revelation on OS/2 machines
