Several developers have reported varying degrees of success in running Revelation Technologies' products on UNIX operating systems using DOS emulation software. Reports from the field indicate the following results:

VP/ix does not run. One user reports that when accessing a file a a on networked drive, an inaccurate file size is returned by the operating system. This has been traced to a problem in the BIOS. The vendor is working on a solution.

Sun's PCNFS does not run. A user reports that locking did not happen correctly using the Generic 3.1 driver.

The same user who tried the Sun reports success with BWNFS (published by Beame and Whitehead of Ontario). Using the Generic 3.1 driver, proper locking was achieved.

The only anomaly reported was with printer I/O. NFS requires that the PRN device be closed before printing will begin. PDISK PRN takes care of that requirement.

Revelation Technologies welcomes compatibility reports from the field. Unless otherwise noted, none of the systems reported in a compatibility report have been tested by Revelation Technologies.
