Users have reported getting access violation error messages when trying to bump a previously bumped copy of Advanced Revelation on 3Com 3Open networks. On 3Com 3Open networks (and perhaps on other LAN Manager networks) the usual DOS network bump procedure should be followed except that the NON-NETWORKING driver must be used while performing the bump process.

To use the NON-NETWORK driver you should: * log in to Advanced Revelation * use the Bump window to select * the NON-NETWORK driver * log off * log back in to Advanced Revelation

You can then perform the bump(s). After the user bumps have been applied, you can select the DOS 3.1 or LAN Manager network driver in the Bump window before logging off.

Remember also that the AREV.EXE file must normally be set to read-only after a bump. Before performing the second bump, you must therefore use the DOS ATTRIB command to change the file to read-write. When you have completed the bump process, reset the AREV.EXE file to read-only.

3+Open is a trademark of 3Com.
