====== OConv Masked Scientific (MS) function ====== ==== Description ==== Converts from internal storage format to scientific notation. ==== Syntax ==== //output// = **OConv**(//string//, "**MS** [//e// //mm//] [ , ] ") ==== Parameters ==== OConv (MS) takes the following arguments for its parameters.\\ \\ ^Parameters^Description^ |//String//|Must be either a number or a variable that contains a number. The value can be a decimal number. If //string// is not a number, 0 (zero) is returned.| |MS|Indicates a scientific notation conversion.| |//E//|Indicates the number of digits in the power of 10 to which the number is raised. The default is 2. The maximum value is 9.| |//Mm//|If you use the //e// option, you must use the //mm// option to indicate the number of digits in the mantissa, or the number of places following the decimal point. The default for //mm// is 6, and the maximum is 14. The value specified for //mm// may be one or two decimal digits.| |, (comma)|The "," (comma) option substitutes a "," for the decimal point.| ==== Example ==== The following table provides examples of the correct use of the OConv Masked Scientific function. ^Example code^Output^ |OConv(1.23,"MS")|1.230000E+00| |OConv(-1.23,"MS22")|-1.23E+02| |OConv(123,"MS15")|1.23000E+2| |OConv(123456,"MS23")|1.235E+05|
