Platform is AREV 2.12.
Have a client who has started receiving the message:
"Semaphore was Not Locked" after a write/unlock operation. The app hasn't changed and neither has the environment. Any ideas?

Guessing - sounds like the unlock call made it to the server, but the lock call didn't???

AREV 2.12, Novell Netware Driver, Netware 3.2 - no changes in this environment for 6 months. Upgraded 6 months ago from 3.12 to 3.2 for Y2K.

Check that no files are flagged with transaction tracking on, and that all files have valid owners.
FLAG -T REV*.*
I've seen lock tables saturate on Netware 4.x servers with TTS enabled (by default) and rev files accidentally flagged +T.
Otherwise, unless there's a server attached (backup/CD) that doesn't accept locks, I don't know how such an error might arise.
