I am trying to help a client of mine who needs to export some addresses from her Revelation database. She is running this on DOS (the database is at least 13 years old). I have looked in the manuals under everything I can think of and cannot see how to do this. Is it possible?
Thank you.

If you are using REV you can use the PORTER program located on the utility disk. There is a PORRTER.DOC file on the disk that explains how to use it.
If you do not have the utility disk you can contact customer service at (800- 262-4747 and get a replacement.

Thank you for your quick response. I'll check tonight to see if they still have the utility disk.

We do exports all the time by using PDISK to a file.
John,
You replied a while ago to an inquiry I had concerning exporting Revelation files to other formats. Following your suggestion I located the Porter file, and am only now seriously trying to use it.
I'm not sure if my problem is caused because we're using a new version of DOS than was available when the docs where written, or if I just don't know enough to do this easily, but here is my problem…
When I type (as per the instructions) :BASIC DOS B:PORTER (where B is the current drive) I get an error (bad command or file name). I figured this was because the BASIC should be QBASIC, but that didn't work either. I've looked under the BASIC help files to find out how to compile a file (which is what I assume I'm trying to do here) but found nothing there either.
If you could point out what I'm doing wrong here I would be most grateful.
Thanks in advance,

This must be done from TCL inside Rev G. Get in and Press Ctrl F5. you should see a colon prompt.
Thank you. I still (obviously) have a lot to learn here! I thought TCL stood for "The Command Line" .
