Hopefully a quick and easy answer for this one.

When using edit tables if you change data in a cell, the key is active and acts like a or . If the data is unchanged in a cell, pressing the key leaves you standing where you are.

As I'm converting from Arev, I'd like the edit table to behave more like AMVs, so is there a way to get the to always equate to a or ?

Thanks

Claude

Claude,

What you are asking for is the way it works normally. I suspect you might have installed another program with a different (newer) version of the DATATBL.DLL file. Every once in a while this happens to me and the edittables in OI behave the way you are describing. Compare the DATATBL.DLL file in your Windows\System directory against the one in your OI directory. Copy over if necessary. I've never had a problem with the other applications using an older DATATBL.DLL file.

Sorry Don,

I've only got one copy of DATATBL.DLL and thats in the Revsoft/OI directory. I'm using 3.7.1 if that makes any difference and my copy of Datatbl.dll is dated 25/05/98 00:00 (late night for someone).

I've tried copying this file to the Windows/System directory with no change in behaviour.

Any other suggestions?

Claude

Dear Don,

The problem I described was cured when I unticked the Protected option in the More section.

Funny, the manual states "Prevents insertion of columns or rows in edit table". No mention of the changed behaviour of the key.
