I have a number of Revelation software utilities available which newsgroup readers may be interested in. These are:

(1) Arev/G2B data files to ASCII format export.

FREE

This utility outputs one or more Arev or G2B files into a format suitable for spreadsheet, MS Access, Dbase etc. Can be run under Arev or G2B.

(2) Application Arev/G2B cross-referencing program.

$US200 or FREE for applications with less than 1000 items

This comprehensive cross-referencing program runs under Arev only but is able process G2B RDES files as well. The routine creates a file containing a record for each file, menu, window, routine (source & object), include file, popup and dictionary item. This information provides the ability to identify active items and their calling path(s), determine if missing source code exists and identify mis-matched object & source code.

(3) Year 2000 Scan Software

FREE for applications with less than 1000 items otherwise price dependant on application size

The Scan software will check all window (template) records, dictionary items and program source code for Y2K triggers. A file is created with one record for each item triggered. Each record contains details of the triggers found within that item, line number(s) and relevant code lines. Each item is 'weighted' according to the likelihood of that item containing an actual Y2K exception.

(4) Advanced Revelation Print Utility

Standalone version free. Network version negotiable.

Works with Arev Versions 2 & 3, Novell Netware or stand-alone. Able to be adapted for Microsoft NT if required. Solves most (if not all) the limitations encountered with printing from Arev including blank page control, correct formats being applied to reports, using multiple printer types, queues (across servers), formats (width, height, orientation etc.), automated standard report headings, printer settings query feature, automatic recovery of printer settings on system crash, prevent screen 'wrap' and display failures, print to file control etc.

I have more than 20 years experience in computing which includes 5 years Revelation G2B and 10 years Advanced Revelation systems design and programming. I have recently completed Year 2000 audits on G2B & Advanced Revelation applications in the manufacturing, fishing, banking, insurance and investment industries. Most of these assignments have been teleworked.

I am currently available for Year 2000 telework or possibly short-term on-site assignments. Resume and references are available on request.

What criteria do you use to decide if there is a Y2K issue?
