this error occurs when opening a lot of files (about

300) in the same volume … the filenames are rather

long …reducing the number of files in the volume

reduces the risk for this to happen ..

but why ??? and how can I ELIMINATE the risk ???

can anyone explain this one to me ??? is there a

limit for the numbers of tables that can be opened

at the same time ??? if so .. is it possible to

'close' tables too ???

I believe RTP50 is the memory resident filing system, so it must be adding too many file names (or as you say too long). No real pointers other than shorten the names…

Bengt,

As Andrew mentioned RTP50 is the memory resident 'filling system'. I do not believe there is any way around this problem without reducing the size if your file names.
