I just encountered an error I've never seen before. I was unable to attach the dictionary for a certain file. I tried all the normal things when this happens, to no avail. The problem wound up being that field defined as the second part of the key was also defined as a multivalued field. Evidently this was allowed in an older version of Arev or the field got corrupted somehow. However, the current version (3.02) does not even allow the dictionary to be attached. Unfortunately, there is no error message helpful enough to aid in diagnosing the problem. I tracked down the problem by attaching the file as a data file and doing a record count to another dictionary. This produced a reasonable error message – well almost. At least I was able to determine which record was failing this way.
