I am attempting to install an AREV update to allow Win95 workstations to run under Netware 3.12.
Can you use Microsofts Client for Netware setting in Win 95 Network Settings or do you have to use Novells Client for Workstation shells.
The installation instructions seem incomplete.
Thanks.

I understand presently that the Novell client for Windows 95 is better than the Microsoft one.
The issues are record locking, Windows 95 write caching, and print capturing under Novell.
The Novell 32 bit client versions 2.11 and 2.12 seem to be OK in my experience, but this may vary based on your Windows 95 release version (and patches). The client files can be downloaded from the Novell website.
To test printing, first run your capture command from DOS. Then you might try a standard report, or from TCL try a page eject with:
EVAL PRINTER ON ; PRINT CHAR(12) ; PRINTER OFF
To test locking from TCL from two workstations EDIT VOC JUNK and see whether the locking message appears on the second workstation. It should say that the JUNK record is in use by another workstation and no changes can be saved. No message=no locking.
The use of the Revelation Software's Network products is recommended to avoid GFE's. Also, turn off write caching. There are documents on this website with instructions about the best configuration for Windows 95 and AREV.
Hope this helps,
Steve
