FS107: Read Error (OpenInsight 16-Bit Specific)

I'm sorry for my English.
Lh Verify find the following problem on a table:
FS107 Read Error. OS Table= xxxxx.OV "
In the details shows: Group 692. Forward pointer in overflow frame points to a nonexistent position in the file.
Anyone can tell me how to repair this?
Thanks.

Have you tried the Fix GFE option in Utilities/Linear Hash Tables in Database Manager?

This option is disable, so I can´t execute it.
Is there any other way to correct the problem, for example modify the OV file manually?
The backup of data is quite old so I can´t use it.
Thanks.

This implies you are using a runtime copy of the software not a development copy. Are you still in touch with the original developer?

No, I´m using a developement copy of the software. I tried to fix the GFE directly from the results of the Lh Verify, but the Fix GFE button is disable. Then I tried the Fix GFE option in Utilities/Linear Hash Tables in Database Manager. This tool show me the following message:
FS200 : The … table is not available.

Mauricio,
Try to LH Verify the index table. The GFE might be there and not in the data table.

I tried this but showed me the same problem: FS107 : Read error
When I tried the Fix GFE tool it showed me the same message: FS200 : the … table is not available.

I´m sorry Oystein. The index table has no GFE.

Hmmmm… maybe the disk is becoming bad. I would try a scandisk to see if the disk has errors.
I believe an FS107 error is an OSREAD error. Either the file does not exist or it simply can not read it.
You can get the "DOS" filename by using the "database manager". Under the menu "Utilities", "Openinsight tables", "LH table info".
And you can try this… If you can select all records (rows) in that file (table), then I would copy all the records (rows) to a another file (table), then clear the file (table), then copy the records (rows) back.

I tried to edit records from the table using the system editor, but it didn´t show me any row of the table, so I belive that I will not be able to select and copy then to another table. But I will try it.

Also check to see if the OS (DOS) file exists too!

Yes, it exists!!!

Dang!!!
I have run out of ideas for you. I guess the GFE is not repairable???

Mauricio,
And the "…" of yours is the name of the data file? Not the index? Nor the DICT?

Mauricio,
"It"? Should be "them". .LK and .OV.
(Well, of course you know that. Apologies.)

Mauricio,
Perhaps you can still salvage some records, by reading one record at a time from a program. But you might need to know the record keys. I have a program that takes a list of keys and tries to read records from a damaged table. It writes the records it finds to a text file. It doesn't matter if the list contains non-existing keys.
I also have another salvaging program lying around, made by Aaron Kaplan, but I think it needs modifications before it can be run.

Oystein,
I will try to read records from a program and copy them to another table.
Also, I'll be thankful if you can send me the salvaging programs.
