Help!!!

Our hospital bought a software package called Dorn Quest back in 1990. It uses Revelation version G. Dorn Technologies no longer supports this product. We have problems with ascii file imports. Data in specific tables disappear intermittently.

Does anyone have any resources for programming assistance in Revelation G?

HI Cathy,

There are stilll a few of us G programmers still out here.

Although there was a firm (Dunbar) out of Texas years ago that had some import routines for some popular (at the time) software, most ascii import work is usually done on an individual basis. That is to say that you get an ascii file in the same format every time. Right. Some of your errors could be programming or glitches in the import data. Who knows.

Disappearing data in RevG usually means a file is attached (available) in one directory then re-attached (re-pointed) to a file in a different directory with the same name. This could occur if different functions of the system uses data in different directories at different times and some files share the same name.

Just some thoughts. Lost? Please contact me directly,

Much Luck,

As someone noted earlier, the two most likely sources of the errors are:

1) different files beign attached at different times

2) errors in the data being imported - funny characters can create havoc in ARev.

Programming support is available on prn basis, either on-site or telecommuting.
