OI manuals, where are they? (OpenInsight 32-bit)

Hello:
I'm an AREV programmer who has just purchased and installed OpenInsight onto my personal laptop. One of the first things I did was go looking for the manuals. I found the PDF files in the Documents directory but those are mostly Quick Start Guides and Reference Guides. I've started reading thru these files. But what I'm not seeing is the down in the weeds manuals. The equivalent to the AREV R/Basic manual that came in the box with the others. Along with the Windows manual and the like.In the main directory, I did find CHM files that seem to have what I'm looking for, like Programming_in_OpenInsight.CHM and Programming_Command_Function_and_Subroutines.CHM. These seeem to be formated as Help files. In my experimenting I was able to get print outs of sections at a time but not the whole things at once. I don't like reading on a computer. I prefer a printed copy that I can read, flip thru, put post-it notes, highlight, add notes to and reference without being tied to a computer. Especially at this stage, I'd like a printed copy so I can sit down at my leisure put my feet up and read thru a manual and digest its contents. Are the CHM files the manuals I'm looking for or are there others and where? For the CHM files, is there a good way to get the whole thing printed in one shot or do I have to go section my section? Thanks,
Michael Slack

FYI, I can't get the links to work for me.
Any secrets password or something? Thanks,

Thanks for pointing this out. The links have been fixed. We have been migrating the knowledge base from Lotus Domino to an O4W application and the new web server (IIS 6 aka Windows 2003) didn't care for the .epub extension. By default IIS 6 will not serve any documents that it doesn't recognize the file extension of.

Hello:
In looking at the eBook titles, they look to be the same ones that are in the OpenInsight Document directory. Which I've found and printed a few and are reading. They look to be good high level starting points. As close as I've come so far is what looks to be the Help files (.CHM) under the main OpenInsight directory. Those look promising but not complete. Again, I'm used to the set of blue and white boxed manuals that came with AREV 3.12 and the other manuals that dealt with WINDOWS and MFS's and the system subroutines and all. I found those to be very helpfull in working with AREV. I was expecting something similar with OpenInsight but more so due to it's greatly expanded capabilities as compared to AREV.What I'm looking for is a full set of OpenInsight manuals (electronic or other) that I can fully use the capabilities of OpenInsight and produce programs, windows and all to their best advantage. Thanks,
Michael Slack

The OpenInsight folder should have a Documents directory with PDF files containing QSG (Quick Start Guides). The QSG are good starting points to get introduced to a specific aspect of OpenInsight. For more complete training customers normally sign up for training class. Martyn Phillips has produced a great set of YouTube videos that may supplement the quick start guides.
The OpenInsight help CHM file is the best and most up-to-date reference available for any version of OpenInsight and is the closest thing available to the Arev manuals.

Hello All:
Thank you for all of your help. With more digging around and reading of the PDF and CHM files, it finally dawned on me that they were what I was looking for. Part of it is dawning on me that OpenInsight is so much more than AREV. That it has the AREV / Pick fundamentals but has a completely different mindset and power and of course capability. I knew that but I didn't realize the extent of the power and scope. Both of which I've just scratched the surface on. So, I've got a lot of reading and learning to do. That should help keep me out of trouble for a little while. Thanks for telling me about the YouTube videos, I wouldn't have thought of that.I had thought about training classes but I just haven't done any searching for them yet. When the time comes, I assume that I'll contact Revelation to see what they may offer and/or who I might get them from.Thank you,
