We are importing some data and using the DIR command to get the length of files. If there is a in the file name (which in this case is likely) then the DIR command doesn't work, it returns null. The character is the same as @SVM. Tried to OSread the file contents so I could write it back out with the replaced with a u making a good file name. OSRead won't read the file with that character in the filename. Any ideas?

Hi Deb,

What happens if you surround the commands with setutf8(true$) /setutf8(false$)
