We've successfully done this at customer sites. If you have the Metaframe stuff working at present, you shouldn't have any problems.

This makes the concept of session variables in a web app harder to maintain, and there are security implications. If you're not doing any CGI/web work from OI this probably won't present any difficulty, but if you intend to do web or browser-based connections to OI in the future, keep this in mind.
