Using OI32 under Windows 2000 and Citrix Metaframe XP.

Maybe someone can help me here. I started receiving an inappropriate message when printing using OIPI under Terminal Service – "This is an Evaluation Copy of the OIPI."

However, if I print using a regular lan PC, the above message dose not display.

Upon further investigation, I found the message would print if the startup parameter used UNC notation vs regular mapping.

For example, if the Startup parameter in the shortcut was O:\OInsight\Develop\Oinsight.exe., I would not get the message.

However, if the Startup parameter instead was \\MyComputerName\Volume\Oinsight\Develop\Oinsight.exe., then I would get the inappropriate error message.

I'm sure that some knowledgeable guy/gal out there can explain why this is happening. If possible, I rather use the "\\" notation as I don't have to specify any drives. I'm also wishing that may someone can also tell me where to put OIPI.LIC so I can use UNC.

Thanks,

Ray

P.S. Will post on otheside as well.

If I print under Terminal Service, my printed document are stamped with message that

Does anyone have any idea when the OIPI.LIC file needs to be put so that Terminal users don't see this message.

I had the same problem. I downloaded and updated the latest OIPI from the Works download area and that corrected the problem.

Hope this helps.

Richard,

Thanks for the response. I think that I do have the latest version of OIPI32 based on the date found on the website.

But you're saying, however, that when you were using UNC that you were getting the same errorneous message that I was. However, when you did an upgrade to OIPI the errorneous message disappeared. Is this correct?

Thanks,

Ray

Ray,

That's correct. I have no explanation either. It just worked. Try it. what have you got to lose?
