Creating a New Application

Choose New, Application… from the File menu to create a new application. The New Application dialog box is displayed.

The Application Name, Password and Retype Password are the only required items in this dialog box.

Click in the Name edit line and type in the name of your application to be converted. (Spaces are not allowed in an Application Name or User Name.)

Click in the Password edit line and type in the new password for the Application. The password must follow the guidelines set up in the enhanced security policy, if you’ve enabled that policy. Re-type the password in the Retype Password edit line.

Note: The Inheritance drop down indicates <Default Inheritance>. This means that this newly created application inherits the components of the base application, SYSPROG, mentioned above.

For the purposes of this document, we will be converting an application named STAR

Clicking on the OK Button will create the new application. You may see some gas gauges appear on the screen, and then the SYSPROG application will close, and your new application will appear in the IDE, as seen on the next page.
