OpenInsight in a WinFrame Environment with the Revelation NLM (Network Compatibility,Operating System Compatibility)
Created at 04 APR 1997 01:40PM
The Revelation Network Loadable Module (NLM) was developed to improve stability, performance, and the ability to run under Windows 95 or Windows NT to Advanced Revelation and OpenInsight users.
We have recently discovered some problems running OpenInsight and Advanced Revelation in a WinFrame environment with the NLM. We have been working on this issue and discovered that NWCALLS.DLL and NWIPXSPX.DLL, which we relied on for initializing the NLM, are not supported by Citrix WinFrame 1.x. As a remedy, we have created a version of LHIPX.DLL that does not use NWCALLS.DLL or NWIPXSPX.DLL. Instead this new version, LHPIXVXD.DLL, calls NETWARE.DRV and VIPX.386 directly. This new LHIPXVXD.DLL is available for downloadNotes Link
. Please note that LHIPXVXD.DLL should only be used for OpenInsight users when running on a Novell network with Citrix WinFrame 1.x. Please review the accompanying read me file before downloading the file.
We have also had reports of Advanced Revelation performance issues running on a Novell network with WinFrame 1.6. While these performance issues are typical for networked applications (e.g. ODBC) running on top of a networked terminal environment, we will continue to work with Citrix on possible resolution.
In the meantime, we are very interested in hearing your feedback about performance of the Revelation network products. We have set up an email address devoted to your feedback at networkfeedback@revelation.com. When emailing us, please include the following information:
your network configuration
your workstation configuration
number of users on your network
Revelation product and version number being used
your comments
Please note that this email address is for** feedback only**. No technical support or any other types of questions submitted to this address will be answered.
For those of you using Citrix WinFrame, we thank you for your patience and hope that the new LHIPXVDX.DLL will resolve your networking issues.
